Comparing Before and After: The Cost of All Things by Maggie Lehrman

cost of things

This was my WoW pick(hosted by Breaking the Spine) back on October 22nd 2014. I was excited because:

“The description is short and vague but it definitely intrigues me. It leaves so many questions that I want answered. Who died? What are these spells? Why were they cast? Were those three involved with the death? It screams ‘this book has twists and turns’”

After reading and reviewing it, it was very different than I thought it would be. A lot less Harry Potter magical and a lot more magical realism, which is a genre I’m really beginning to enjoy. There were definitely a lot of plot twists, some I did see coming, but it was just as interesting a read as I thought it would be.
